(In-Progress)Apartment "Survival Supplies" for young families concerned about emergencies
A friend asked me recently about what I thought he and his family should store for those inevitable "rainy days" that befall everyone from time to time.
Why?
We are talking about a young family who see the benefit of being prepared for emergencies, but who's attention has been turned toward other life pursuits rather than immersing themselves in security, public or life safety systems. They are spending effort to better equip themselves in tough times, NOT preparing for the "End of the World". For the record, the US government makes many of these same suggestions: https://www.ready.gov/
- Who are we trying to support?
- Family of 4
- 2 Adults
- 2 Children
- Family of 4
- Where do they live?
- Major metropolitan area and/or surrounding suburbs
- 2 or 3 bedroom apartment
- 2nd floor or above
- Balcony or Patio attached
- Visible "modifications" to apartment not allowed
- No "extra storage" spaces/units available
- No "extra parking spaces"
- What do they ALREADY have available?
- Her car
- Minivan with 2x child car seats
- 16gal fuel tank
- 300w 110VAC inverter
- 6x 1A USB A power ports
- Multi-screen entertainment system
- Her car
